At the Pyx Lax Reunion Concert, Olympia

It was a nice, breezy August evening at Olympia last Friday... Everything looked like me and my two friends were going to have a truly great time at the Pyx Lax Reunion Concert.

The theatre, built in the ancient Greek amphitheatre style, was packed with people of all ages.

There wasn't a single person who didn't sing to Pyx Lax songs that night...

Soon the atmosphere was loaded with emotion...

...and when the deceased member Manos Xydous appeared on a clip, singing 'Esy Ekei', it sent shivers down our spine...

The following video is from the concert the band gave this summer in Athens, earlier in their tour:

End of Summer 40% Sale

I have decided to put everything in my shop on a 40% sale from August 10 till August 31. Let's celebrate the end of summer together, and send the melancholy away!

The coupon code you could use at checkout is AMORSALE, just make sure you enter it in the relevant box, NOT in the message to seller box :) Browse the shop for your favorites and then check back between those dates to shop.

Meanwhile, it might be useful if you started making lists with little gifts that you will be needing in the near future, as well as those pieces that you want to keep for yourself... And, by all means, do spread the word!

August Moon

The moon in August is truly glorious... I cannot but associate it with femininity in its most attractive form. From Reflections, the 1970 album composed by Manos Hadjidakis for the band New York Rock and Roll Ensemble, with English lyrics, comes this piece - adapted by the Greek band Raining Pleasure (2005).

She was a lady once of noble name,
noble dame.
She has a silver ring from her king
Give her a nickel, take her out to dine,
give her wine.
Comfort her if she sighs and then cries

Look for her by the fountain on the road, say hello.
Don’t be afraid to smile and then go.
And if you see her talking to herself all alone.
Leave her alone, her heart is at home.

She was a lady once without a care,
golden hair.
She was the only friend of the king
Maybe she’Il come and ask you for your name,
noble Dame.
We’ll give our love to her on her way.

Look for her by the fountain on the road, say hello.
Don’t be afraid to smile and then go.
And if you see her talking to herself all alone.
Leave her alone, her heart is at home.
