Amoronia Fall Specials: Giveaway Announcement, 9-16 October
Hi everyone!
I'm really excited about the fact that we're in October, it really is a darling month :)
The air is pleasantly cool, the rain falls on the earth, and the senses are awakened. The harvest time is in full swing, since many of us are busy harvesting and processing delicious food for the winter months... Nature's goodies are plenty, which inspired me to do my second blog giveaway, this time featuring a favorite piece from my shop, related to fall and the harvest: The Pumpkin Marshmallow Earrings, made with papier mache, peridot and copper.
Entries for the giveaway will be accepted from Saturday 9 October to Saturday 16 October and the winner will be announced on Sunday 17 October. More details will be announced soon, so stay tuned and spread the word!!!

Είμαι ενθουσιασμένη που είμαστε πλέον στον Οκτώβρη, αγαπώ πολύ αυτόν τον μήνα :)
Η ατμόσφαιρα είναι επιτέλους καθαρή και δροσερή, οι πρώτες βροχές νωτίζουν τη γη και οι αισθήσεις ξυπνούν. Η εποχή της συγκομιδής έχει αρχίσει και πολλοί εργαζόμαστε πυρετωδώς για να επεξεργαστούμε τα δώρα της φύσης, προκειμένου να τα απολαύσουμε τους κρύους μήνες του χειμώνα... Τα δώρα της φύσης είναι άφθονα, έτσι λοιπόν εμπνεύστηκα το δεύτερο διαγωνισμό του μπλογκ μου, αυτή τη φορά χαρίζοντας ένα αγαπημένο μου κομμάτι από το ηλεκτρονικό μου μαγαζί, σχετικό με το θέμα 'φθινόπωρο και συγκομιδή': Τα σκουλαρίκια Pumpkin Marshmallow, φτιαγμένα από παπιέ μασέ, περίδοτο και χαλκό.
Οι συμμετοχές για το διαγωνισμό θα γίνονται δεκτές από το Σάββατο 9 Οκτωβρίου μέχρι το Σάββατο 16 Οκτωβρίου, και ο νικητής θα ανακοινωθεί την Κυριακή 17 Οκτωβρίου. Περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες θα ανακοινωθούν σύντομα, οπότε μείνετε 'συντονισμένοι' και διαδώστε το!!!

Amor Vincit Omnia - the Necklace
Virgil (Publius Vergilius Maro) lived and flourished in Rome (70-19 BC) and was a classical Roman poet, one of Rome's greatest. He is most famous for his Aeneid, a twelve book epic describing the founding of Latium by the Trojan hero Aeneas, and two pastoral poems - the Eclogues and Georgics.
'Amor vincit omnia' comes from Eclogue X, line 69. It is one of the most beautiful verses in Latin and in English it translates as 'Love Conquers All'. I made this necklace as an entry for the weekly EST challenge, hosted by ingermaaike, who picked the theme 'Roman Empire'. I wanted to celebrate the beauty of the phrase, and also to present the origin of Amoronia, the name of my jewelry line. So here is Amor Vincit Omnia, the Necklace, by Amoronia on Etsy:
I made the necklace using an antique brass oval setting and faceted Czech glass beads in jet black graduating sizes. I also used brass wire to connect everything. I finished the necklace with a beautiful antique brass chain. Wouldn't you just love wearing this phrase?

Robin Hood Now
When I saw Robin Hood, the 2010 adventure film based on the Robin Hood legend, I loved it. I loved Russell Crowe's interpretation. I loved Ridley Scott's direction. I loved all the cast. I loved the filming locations. I loved the script. I loved the effortless Medieval style. I was relieved to see a Robin Hood without the Lincoln green clothes, tights, hat and all. It is a memorable film.
Robin Hood is a heroic figure of the English folklore. This means there is very little historical truth actually known about him. But, as is always the case with legends, this hasn't kept writers, directors, film producers, illustrators, collectors, crafters, anyone really, from paying their respects.

Recycling Nautical
Fashion recycles. Everyone knows that. And so did I, to make this nautical necklace.
The thing is though, I didn't make it because it would be fashionable. I made it because I was inspired by the vintage anchor buttons I found at a closing store sale. Only two in the entire store! I kept thinking about what I could make with them for several months, before the idea about the design just occurred to me the other day.
This is the result, one of the must-have pieces in your wardrobe that will see you through all this nautical trend -but above all, a piece that incorporates original vintage nautical elements that were made before you were even born...
And if you love nautical anyway, like I do, you are going to absolutely not want to take this necklace off! So, visit my shop now! Remember this piece is one of a kind -once it's gone, it's gone forever!
