Uptights leggings
A few months ago I discovered Uptightso, a shop on Etsy that sells impressive print leggings. I decided to do a post about it when I saw that the woman behind it has a Greek sounding name :)
Penelope Kokinelis is a Sydney, Australia based designer, who creates limited edition quirky elegant leggings (and more), in prints that I have absolutely fallen in love with. See for yourselves.
Absolutely fabulous, don't you think?

Greek Independence Day Mosaic
This mosaic features exclusively Greek sellers. That is because of the double celebration we had here yesterday, it was Independence Day and the Annunciation of the Theotokos at the same time.

SS12 Fashion Trend Report: Pastel Colors
Colors with very low saturation are a big trend this spring. Ranging from very pale to warmer shades, our wardrobe simply cannot go without those pastels. The way to combine them best, if we want to add intensity to our outfit, will be with touches of black or a neon bright version of the same colour.
Louis Vuitton
Versus
Valentino
Preen
Thank you Imaxtree.com and Matteo Volta once again for those beautiful runway photos! And here are some irresistible pastels from the team of Greek sellers on Etsy. Enjoy!
And if you want to discover more, beautiful items in pastel colors, you should definitely check out more shops of the Etsy Greek Street Team!

Women Birds by Elisaveta Sivas
The 29th of February comes only once every four years. This means today is one extra day for us to live life to the fullest. One extra day to prepare for spring. One extra day of winter. One extra day of trial. One extra day for us to learn how to fly. One more chance to make it, and leave the misery behind.
The moment I saw Elisaveta Sivas' theatrical collection, Birds, which she presented at the Habitus Baltija International Exhibition 2010 in Riga, Latvia, the costumes spoke to me. The costumes originally represent oriental women-birds, coming from a fairy tale country, and I particularly loved these two:
And this I would say is The Defiant Woman-Bird, again because of the model's expression. By the way, the photos were taken by Alex Bowcock. If you want to see all the collection, please visit Elisaveta's Etsy shop, here.

I would call this costume The Smiling Woman-Bird, because of the model's lovely smile...

Game of Thrones Mosaic
So, my man is obsessed with the Game of Thrones. Most guys are, naturally. They are thrilled with the violence scenes, the powerful lines and basically, everything about this book - TV series. Oh, and, coming soon, video game. Of course.
Being a Lord of the Rings fan, I just cannot persuade myself to actually like the Game of Thrones. Not enough to make a piece of jewelry, at least. It would just be 'going with the flow' for me. You know, not an honest thing to do. I made a Game of Thrones bookmark for my guy, because he asked nicely (!), and that's as far as I want to get.
But there's nothing stopping me or you from admiring other people's work on Etsy, that is inspired by the Game of Thrones. I think their work is brilliant!
Fantastic work, people! Keep it up!

Love Unconquerable in Battle: the Bookmark
Yes, you guessed right. I couldn't help myself. I made the Sophocles quote into a bookmark, as well.
I am in love with the color combination... Plus, it is a perfect gift for February birthday girls or boys, as it features real amethyst, the birthstone of February, among other beads. Purple is the color of the second month of the year, so you can't miss with this!
Available here.

Amoronia Bookmarks
Hi there lovelies! It's a glorious, sunny, cold morning here, which is absolutely my favorite weather!
I sold my first bookmark last night, and I'm very excited because it was a custom order -and because I thought the customer had a great idea!
So here's a nice gift for those who don't wear jewelry that much. I'm thinking I should make more bookmarks now. It's a shame I hadn't thought about it before, even though I have had requests from friends... Shame on me! And I say I love books... Well, it's never late to make up for this...! Check back soon :)

My Top Three Narnia Inspired Etsy Items
I actually adore The Chronicles of Narnia. I call this blog 'The Chronicles of Amoronia', because I am a fool for everything Narnia-related. So it was only a matter of time before I searched Etsy for Narnia-related things, and I have found my top three!
Here we go...
I hope you hear that, Santa...! Oh, well. If you can't bring me these, at least you may try a little bit harder for world peace, stability and love. Many kisses my darlings!

Poverty
After this week of drama for Greece, I felt like doing a post with some selected photographs on Etsy.
Please visit the artists' shops for more art. And keep Greece in your prayers. Actually, better pray for the whole world right now. Something is most definitely wrong.

Treats
Hi people! Tomorrow is my name day. It is an Orthodox Christian custom to celebrate name days, and even today they are considered more important than birthdays. It means that the most important day of your life was not the day you were born, but the day you were given a Christian name, and became a 'soldier of Christ'. Very interestingly, Demi is a Greek name originating from the words 'Earth Mother', hence the goddess Demeter, goddess of the harvest, who presided over grains, the fertility of the earth, and the seasons. It is also a Christian name, because of St. Demetrios of Thessaloniki, a martyr of the early 4th century, an aristocrat and high rank officer of the Roman army, a military saint who was martyred very young because of his faith in Christ. He is considered a very important saint, equal to Saint George, and many people carry his name. In iconography he is often depicted on a red horse, just like St. George is seen on a white horse.
I love the fact that my name day is placed in the heart of autumn. I will be baking today, and will be using must and sultanas or apples and walnuts, I haven't decided yet which version for a cake I'm going to go for. Oh, and I made a sinful chocolate dessert with biscuits last night, that my mom calls 'salami mosaic', which is currently 'maturing' in the fridge -it is better eaten two days after you make it.
OK then, this post is meant to give you some treats while I'm off the Internet... Here goes!
Have a sweet day everyone!

Eros Bridal Locket Necklace
I am really proud of this! A bride can sure use a locket on her wedding day! This was a custom order, but I intend to make the design available for everyone within the next couple of days. And the price is 28.79 USD (that's around 22 euros).
Meanwhile, after I had started working on this necklace, I happened to be writing the Victorian Charm fashion trend report article for the EGST blog, which you can also read here in my personal blog. While looking for relevant runway photos -I like to select them one by one- I came across this:
Elle says that this necklace, from Dior, marries both Victorian worlds: London’s dark, dirty streets and the royal court’s pretty fashions. It is the Dior 'Poudree' large lace necklace, $3,100. Found at dior.com. Indeed it is gorgeous. But no mortal can pay that amount. Plus, I don't think it is that wearable. By mortal people, that is. Anyway, just thought I'd share it with you. The photo is of course courtesy of Dior. May rich people around the world buy it! The rest of you, who want original designs, are kindly advised to visit my Etsy shop.
