With the sun shining relentlessly here in Greece, especially at noon and in the afternoon, I wanted to see what straw hats I can find on Etsy, since it is the world's largest handmade - vintage community online. And of course, hats being one of my old and known weaknesses, I couldn't possibly limit myself to the kind of hat that shelters from the sun... Want to see for yourselves?
I'll start with a
lovely summer sun hat, in crocheted raffia, from
auntieschicshack -her design is so lightweight and airy, full of timeless charm.
Kakalinarose has some pretty awesome hats, and before buying one, I suggest you take a look at her shop. This
vintage floppy floral style has so much classic appeal!!!

Another
vintage straw from
LOOKs is also very easy to combine with everything in the summer:

The relaxed style of
onnesti hats is wonderful all year round, but I really liked the
Spring Summer Raffia Fedora Hat Natural and Pink for spring and summer:

This
original straw hat with grosgrain ribbon is another must have, if you're looking for styles that last. From
stylelog:

And I don't think I say no to a romantic design like the
adjustable crochet straw hat, from
beliz82 -it is so cute! I can easily picture myself by the sea, too...
On the other hand, this
vintage open weave hat is what I want to be wearing when I sip my afternoon iced tea in the garden - from
stephaniepress:

Of course, they don't call the following a
safari hat for nothing: It's so practical as in protecting you from the sun, not to mention the style!!! From
thevintagewife:

And then, a
summer raffia straw from
CynCerelyCrocheted is adorable!

Not that I would mind sharing this
1950s Imperial straw fedora with my man... From
DalenaVintage:

I would probably buy him this
vintage Mexican sombrero though, from
CapriciousVintage - he does deserve a hat!

Come to think of men in hats... Where is my Mad Hatter style? Surely there must be something in straw... Well, lucky for me,
AwardDesign makes some of the BEST hats around, for example her
whimsical yellow gerber daisy is so tempting...

I've always loved the Races for the hats one gets to see there... It seems hats add personality and uniqueness, and nothing compares to a nice formal hat, right? I found this
Organza Twist Flowers on Black Straw from
GriffinCircle and got stuck...

Of course, no wardrobe without a nice cloche hat is complete, so I thought I might take a look at that
brown Panama straw, from
TheMillineryShop:

And now, it's time for
my favorite pirate hat! Always in their own signature style,
caribbeanrosepirate make gorgeous hats that are to die for!

I mean, can you blame me when I say that I want them all? They are truly amazing finds!
