SS12 Fashion Trend Report: Pastel Colors
Colors with very low saturation are a big trend this spring. Ranging from very pale to warmer shades, our wardrobe simply cannot go without those pastels. The way to combine them best, if we want to add intensity to our outfit, will be with touches of black or a neon bright version of the same colour.

Thank you Imaxtree.com and Matteo Volta once again for those beautiful runway photos! And here are some irresistible pastels from the team of Greek sellers on Etsy. Enjoy!

Game of Thrones Mosaic
So, my man is obsessed with the Game of Thrones. Most guys are, naturally. They are thrilled with the violence scenes, the powerful lines and basically, everything about this book - TV series. Oh, and, coming soon, video game. Of course.
Being a Lord of the Rings fan, I just cannot persuade myself to actually like the Game of Thrones. Not enough to make a piece of jewelry, at least. It would just be 'going with the flow' for me. You know, not an honest thing to do. I made a Game of Thrones bookmark for my guy, because he asked nicely (!), and that's as far as I want to get.
But there's nothing stopping me or you from admiring other people's work on Etsy, that is inspired by the Game of Thrones. I think their work is brilliant!
Fantastic work, people! Keep it up!

NorTin Handmade Shoes, by shoelazzo
OK... I am definitely not lucky in the shoes department... You do recall I have denounced high heels? Let me refresh your memory: There was this post, and then this post... Well, this is a case that I would be very glad to make an exception, one -because the heel is not unreasonably high, and two -because I love the design and the material, the fact these wedges are handmade, and the fact they are produced in Greece!
And just when I was beginning to drool over these... I discovered they are only available in size 38 and 37. I am a good 40, which means I will have to wait and see what the girls come up with next. Oh, didn't I tell you? We are blog pals! I am so proud of you, Nora and Tina! Wishing you the best of luck with your new shop on Etsy!

Eros Bridal Locket Necklace
I am really proud of this! A bride can sure use a locket on her wedding day! This was a custom order, but I intend to make the design available for everyone within the next couple of days. And the price is 28.79 USD (that's around 22 euros).
Meanwhile, after I had started working on this necklace, I happened to be writing the Victorian Charm fashion trend report article for the EGST blog, which you can also read here in my personal blog. While looking for relevant runway photos -I like to select them one by one- I came across this:
Elle says that this necklace, from Dior, marries both Victorian worlds: London’s dark, dirty streets and the royal court’s pretty fashions. It is the Dior 'Poudree' large lace necklace, $3,100. Found at dior.com. Indeed it is gorgeous. But no mortal can pay that amount. Plus, I don't think it is that wearable. By mortal people, that is. Anyway, just thought I'd share it with you. The photo is of course courtesy of Dior. May rich people around the world buy it! The rest of you, who want original designs, are kindly advised to visit my Etsy shop.

Emoona
Emoona is a new French fashion label, which creates very glamorous designs, emphasizing the strength but also the fragility expressed by women.
What I loved about the Emoona designs is this playful, sensual quality, teamed with a nostalgic and decadent feeling of past glamour. In order to bring out the unique in each woman, Emoona only creates a limited number of each design. All creations are numbered. I hope we will get to see more of this label in the future!

Damasquina
Founded by a group of italian fashion and costume designers, Damasquina is supported by an excellent knowledge of traditional tailoring and dressmaking. This small group of young artists produces small but refined collections, where each item is created with quality and attention to detail. The use of good materials, the superb finish and the opportunity to customize each garment with different colour combinations gives a wide range of choice that combines vintage lines with modern trends mixing elegant style with strong personality.

Firm Matter
Concrete (from the latin concrescare) means grown together, and consisting of matter or something firm. Not exactly my favorite medium, but then I discovered these, and thought I'd share them with you.
Aren't they interesting, to say the least? How do you feel about this material? Let me know in your comments!

Colores Nuevos y Días Claros
Andaba perdia de camino pa la casa
cavilando en lo que soy
y en lo que siento
pokito a poko entendiendo
que no vale la pena andar por andar
que´s mejor caminá pa ir creciendo
Volvere a encontrame con vosotros
volvere a sonreir en la mañana
volvere con lagrima en los ojos
mirar al cielo y dar las gracias
pokito a poko entendiendo
que no vale la pena andar por andar
que´s mejor caminá pa ir creciendo
Volvere a encontrame con vosotros
volvere a sonreir en la mañana
volvere con lagrima en los ojos
mirar al cielo y dar las gracias
Dreaming of new colors and better days... Lyrics and Music: Pokito a Poko, Chambao

Corset Empire
Theodora Provopoulou, one of my favorite designers, has just launched her online corset selling store! Corset Empire is the name, and you might want to save it in your favorites. With five collections, I believe it holds the biggest variety of handmade corsets online. Also note, prices are very reasonable -given the fact you are buying designer, handmade pieces! Very important in this day and age.
If you still think of the corset as an undergarment, you are bound to discover that fashion design has progressed, making it a piece that no woman should do without. Ask yourself not if you are the type of woman that would wear a corset, ask rather what kind of corset suits your type best. And if you are a lover of feminine clothes and showing off your figure, you might want to consider owning more than one!
Simply Chic is a light, summery, corset-like top with no lining or padding. Perfect for the season, I'd say!
True Romance creates a perfect figure, wrapped in romance. Getting married, anyone?
Pretty Cheeky is the fun, girly collection. Being a girl is reason enough to celebrate!
So Splendid corsets are suitable for stunning, night-out appearances. Think red carpet occasions...
Always Denim is a collection for those who want to be always comfortable and cool. Like when sailing, for instance...
And remember: Corsets are suitable for every type of woman, but you want to be sure they will look great on you. Theodora may be young, but she is THE designer to trust when it comes to corsets.

Dress For The Occasion
I believe Etsy is the best online place. Seriously. A friend has a graduation ball to go to, and needed my help. Look what I found! I can't say with certainty if she is going to like these, but I know I do, and I sure wish I was in her place!
And you need not ask yourself where to go for accessories... I mean, have you seen what they sell in most stores? Fake, cheap looking things that were probably made unethically. Plus, if you have a look at what Etsy offers, you simply can't go back...
The Poet vintage flower band
And don't jump into conclusions that handmade is costly... Everything has a price to it, and you always get what you pay for... Plus, there are many more dresses and stuff on Etsy that are affordable, so no excuses... That said, did I mention I want to go to a graduation ball really badly?
